Team Owners

Recruiting Team Owners for the U.S. National Poker League™ (NPL) for Season #2. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the U.S. NPL!

Four (4) owners will be chosen, each of whom will be responsible for a team of at least four (4) poker players that will be drafted from a pool of qualified players. Tournaments for Season #1 are slated to be played in eastern Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley. However, anyone from anywhere in the U.S. interested in becoming a Team Owner is encouraged to apply, as the League is open across the United States.

Owner Responsibilities:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age to be an Owner in the NPL
  2. Must be available in/around the Lehigh Valley (PA) area for the time commitments listed below
  3. Each owner will have a team consisting of poker players, who will be drafted from a predetermined list
  4. Owners are ultimately responsible for drafting players to their team, from a predetermined pool of players
  5. Responsible for choosing which players will play at each given event
  6. Responsible for choosing which player(s) will play in the Championship event
  7. Time commitment
    • Must be available for three hours on each of five consecutive Saturday’s (afternoon or evening)
    • Season will last five weeks, with one tournament on each of four Saturday’s, lasting approximately two hours each
    • The fifth week will be a single Championship event, on a Saturday afternoon/evening, not expected to last more than about two hours
    • Owners must be available for the draft and for each tournament, plus the Championship event
  8. Financial Commitment
    • Initial fee to be admitted as a team owner in the league
      • Initial fee is required
    • Additional one-time fee to obtain a higher draft pick, if desired
      • Draft pick fee is NOT a requirement
    • Requirement to purchase coordinating team shirts adhering to the league template, for each team member, including the owner
    • Each team must have a minimum of four players
    • Any other monies owner may see fit to spend on their team, i.e., coaching, etc.
  9. Owners cannot also be Players in the league

Credentials:

  • Have a passion for the game of Poker
  • Have a thorough understanding of Poker
  • Understand NL Hold ’em tournament structure & play
  • Be available for the time commitments outlined above
  • Have the financial means to cover league fee(s) and player expenses, i.e., purchase coordinating team & owner shirts, as outlined above

    • You may simply submit a resume if desired, but be certain to also include poker/sports/gaming related credentials, if they are otherwise missing
    • Include a list of credentials, with specific emphasis on poker, sports and/or gaming
    • Include any other related items, such as participation in other leagues (fantasy football, recreational gaming leagues, high school/college/professional sports, etc.), if applicable
    • Include any team leadership, management or (business) ownership experience, if applicable
    • Indicate if Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening works better for you
    • Bonus: Include a short paragraph (a few sentences will suffice) of why you are interested in becoming an owner in the NPL
